CASA A COLORI
1993
Unica Terra, MOVI, Popoli Insieme, and the ACLI form the co-operative NUOVO VILLAGGIO to respond to immigrants' need for housing.
1996
The CASABLANCA project began in Codiverno di Vigonza, marking the establishment of the first reception center functioning as extra-hotel accommodation. This experience led to the publication of the ALBERGO POPLARE project in 1997 in the monthly magazine Cittadini Dappertutto.
1997
NUOVO VILLAGGIO, in collaboration with Acli and Caritas Diocesana, has launched the Città Solare project aimed at job placement for vulnerable groups. The project has begun collecting used clothing through yellow bins.
1999
The Città Solare project has become a cooperative and has merged with the Arcobaleno co-operative.
2003
The Villaggio Solidale consortium, which includes Coop. Nuovo Villaggio, Coop. Città Solare, Coop. Alisei, and Coop. Solidarietà, has inaugurated CASA A COLORI. This extra-hotel accommodation facility is dedicated to young people, travelers, students, and workers on the move. With 60 beds available, it also serves individuals experiencing housing emergencies. CASA A COLORI is the first temporary social housing initiative in the Veneto region.
2005
Fondazione La Casa Onlus presents the Casa a Colori project in Dolo | Venezia, reaching a total of 50 housing units owned by the foundation.
2010
Città Solare opens the Ostello a Colori in Mira and takes over Casa a Colori in Dolo.
2011
Città Solare now manages Casa Lucia Valentini Terrani, an accommodation facility with 50 beds.
2012
The breakfast room in Casa a Colori Venezia becomes the Osteria del Frate dalla Manica Larga.
2013
With the acquisition of the Mission School from the Dehonian priests in Padova, Città Solare initiates the QUIPADOVA urban regeneration project.
2019
QUIPADOVA has taken off and the following areas have been implemented: QUIABITO (social housing intervention), CASA A COLORI (accommodation facility offering 160 beds), SINE-DIE (daycare center for the elderly), CENTRO MEDICO S.LUCA (polyclinic), Q10 (gymnasium), OFFICES, COWORKING, 5 HALLS for meetings and recreational activities, QUI emporiofaidanoi (bicycle workshop and bricolage). Città Solare and Nuovo Villaggio merge into one cooperative, becoming multi-purpose for social welfare educational and job placement services.
